It’s time to announce the spectacular cast of our summer tour!

In line with our target of roughly 50/50 on new shows, we’ve got four familiar faces and four fantastic fresh additions to the team. Will these guys, this season will bring the total number of actresses to have appeared in our Titus up to 20! How’s that for broadening access?

What’s more, this time around we have several actors from across our different outings of Titus Andronicus that have never appeared together, which is creating some wonderful moments in the rehearsal room. This includes a very special return from one of our original cast.

Let us start by introducing our insanely-talented new company members:

Emily BairstowEmily Bairstow

Emily has recently appeared with the Young Shakespeare Company, the wonderful All The Pigs, and in the Women Centre Stage festival at the National. But we know her best from taking part in our monthly play-readings, and we’re very pleased to be working with her for the first time. She’ll be performing as Tamora in Titus, and Cassio in Othello.

Hannah MorleyHannah Morley

So fresh out of Guildford School of Acting that she hasn’t even graduated yet, Hannah recently played the title role in their recent all-female Henry V, and appeared at the Globe representing GSA in the Sam Wanamaker Festival. Hannah will be playing Roderigo in Othello, and multi-roling to the extreme in Titus, with Bassianus, Alarbus, Martius and the Goth Leader.

Terri ReddinTerri Reddin

A graduate from Rose Bruford College, Terri started performing Shakespeare as a child at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre and has continued ever since. We’re very pleased to be welcoming her to the team, taking on Brabantio, Lodovico, and the Clown in Othello, and Saturninus and the Nurse in Titus.

Sharon SinghSharon Singh

Sharon is a Birmingham School of Acting graduate, where she won the Sir John Gielgud Award. She’s recently played Celia in As You Like It and Isabella in Measure for Measure. She’ll be joining the team as Lavinia in Titus and both Montano and Bianca in Othello.

These new actors join a very exciting collection of our previous Smooth Faced Gentlemen…

Helen ColesHelen Coles

We’re very chuffed to have LAMDA-graduate Helen back in Titus, after storming it as Chiron and Lucius earlier this year. In Othello, she’ll be taking on Desdemona, and she’s already reinventing the part as you’ve never seen it before…

Ashlea KayeAshlea Kaye

Our artistic director reprises her award-winning role as Marcus, Demetrius and Quintus in Titus, and we’re dead excited to reveal that she’ll be playing a spine-tingling Iago in Othello.

Anita-Joy UwajehAnita-Joy Uwejah

AJ first joined us this April as Aaron in Titus. We’re so very pleased to welcome her back into that role, and absolutely thrilled to announce her as our Othello. In Othello, obviously. This season, she gets to play two of Shakespeare’s three Moors in one fell swoop.

Henri MerriamHenri Merriam

She’s back! After a wonderful performance earlier this year in Anonymous Is A Woman’s F.A.N.Y, we’re over the moon to have Henri back as Titus. Joining us as Emilia in Othello, Henri will be the only gent to have been in the original cast for all of our shows. Fun fact.

Joining the cast are a crack team of creatives making the show happen. Our associate lighting designer Celia Dugua is designing the tech for both shows, and our associate dramaturg Anna Beecher is back doing what she does best. Co-founder Michael Grady-Hall will be working on language and verse, alongside his his fellow Three’s Company member, Tom Crawshaw, who’s on comedy. Our new favourite Spaniard, the legendary Enric Ortuño, will be applying his magic to fight choreography. Bex Kemp is designing Othello, and Fabi Williams & Ellie Thomas are back to develop the set they designed for April’s TitusSam Dunkley, the composer of Titus, is also writing the music for Othello, and Philippa Hogg is returning as musical director for both shows. Hanne Talbot is costume supervisor, and Tom Turner will be supporting Celia as associate lighting designer. April’s assistant director for Titus, Hannah Hauer-King, will move up to Associate Director, and joining us on tour (and making sure everything actually happens) will be our lovely production manager Matt Nelson and assistant stage manager Francesca Osimani.

Both shows are directed by our own Yaz Al-Shaater.

Tickets are on sale for all the shows, so grab yours now!
