Tonight, over two years after its inception, and loads of touring, our triple-award-winning paint-soaked unruly all-female production of Titus Andronicus finally descends on London!
The show is in good shape: the new cast are phenomenal, the new set is epic, and we’ve spent months reimagining the show from the ground up.
The fights are moving at a gut-wrenching speed (thanks Enric); the music heart-stoppingly haunting (echoing up to me as the cast practice in the cafe), and the new paint formula is mixed (after days of tweaking like George’s Marvellous Medecine).
The paper aeroplanes are folded (new and improved, with better aerodynamics and oh-so-much-bigger). The 70+ lighting cues are programmed. And the set has been scrubbed back to white after days of rehearsal.
So we’re ready for you, London!
Come along and see the show, from today until Saturday at 7.30pm. And drop by and say hi in the bar afterwards, we’d love to hear what you think! Especially if you’re interested in joining our team for the subsequent tour…
We’re also running a workshop for actors and directors on Thursday afternoon, and a post-show talk on Friday evening (with some cast, the dramaturg, the composer, and the director*).
And don’t forget, we’re offering a limited number of free tickets for teachers and tutors too!
All that remains is to say a very important thank you, to the wonderful Greenwich Theatre. Not only for being an exceptionally accommodating and pleasant venue, but for taking us on as a supported company, and all the help and, well, support that comes with that.
Now. Stop reading this blog and go and buy a ticket.
See you here!
Yaz, director
*aka yours truly.
