Back during Edinburgh Fringe, after we saw their brilliant double bill, The Handlebards told us about an idea of theirs. We agreed to make it happen together, along with our dear friends The Merely Players, and we’re very pleased to announce…
30th and 31st January, 2015
It’s a simple concept. Several different companies take on an act each of the same Shakespeare play, and stage it in their own distinctive way – each vying for your approval. What gets to do the fifth act? Will we even survive that long? There’s only one way to find out!
Actually there are two ways:
- Buy a ticket quick, before they sell out, and come and see the show!
- Don’t buy a ticket, then wait for all your cool friends tell you how amazing it was, while you feel like a chump for missing out.
The choice is honestly yours.
This time round, the play is Macbeth. The story tells… wait, you already know the plot. You don’t need me to recite it for you. And if you don’t know it, even better. No spoilers here.
Either way, come and see us, and watch the Scottish play as you’ve never seen it before. Plus, you get to experience some of the most talked-about Shakespeare companies in action, for the price of one very reasonable ticket, in the beautiful surroundings of The Greenwich Theatre. What’s not to love?
