Advance Press for Titus Andronicus

Titus is about to hit Edinburgh and everything is looking good. We’ve had some brilliant advance press on the show, so we thought we’d collate it all together.

If you’re interested in Smooth Faced Gentlemen, have a read. There’re some interesting interviews and some great insights into the work we do.

[We’ll keep this post updated with future coverage as it comes in]

Advance picks

  • One of The Stage‘s six Edinburgh Highlights (May 2013),
  • One Fringe Review‘s Top Ten for Buxton (June 2013)
  • One of Broadway Baby‘s Top Ten for Edinburgh (June 2013)
  • Again in The Stage, Thom Dibdin listed us as a recomended show (July 2013)

Fran Binefa, Ashlea Kaye and Leila SykesInterviews and features

Female Arts
published an in-depth interview with Ashlea, Fran and Leila:

“Is it interesting to be exploring a play that might be seen as inherently masculine?”
“That was the reason we approached it in first place!”

The lovely Olivia Lauder fromA Younger Theatre wrote a whole feature on the company, after interviewing Ashlea, Henri, and Maddie:

I think the audience go with you… rather than saying ‘nah, I’ll sit here and let men with beards boom at me’

And after an informal interview with Tom and Yaz, Fringe Guru wrote a preview on the show too:

“There’s a lot of promise in this eye-catching play”

We also got coverage in British Theatre Guide, The Stockport Express, and several other theatre blogs.

It’s really special to have so much attention around the show – it seems people are thirsty for all-female Shakespeare. Bodes well for the fringe!

We’ll keep you updated.
