The Gents are looking for some collaborators for our Summer Season. We’re taking a show on tour, to major venues at the Buxton and Edinburgh Fringes, and we’re currently building our creative team.
Which Shakespeare play we’re taking hasn’t officially been announced yet, but we are happy to fill interested parties in after initial contact has been made.
Rehearsals for Romeo & Juliet
The main roles we’re looking to fill are:
Designer
The design will be an integral part of the show’s development and we are eager to get someone on board as soon as possible. We’re looking for someone creative and imaginative, as well as flexible and practical, to work very closely with our creative team to help realise our flagship production.
Assistant Director
The role will include all usual AD duties i.e. helping rehearse the show, assisting the director and dramaturg. However you’ll also get the opportunity to run rehearsals with the actors for a key week, between the first and second public previews.
Producer/Asst. Producer
This role involves helping us manage our team and the production, liaising with other organisations, and taking part in the fundraising efforts. Scale depends on your experience. A great opportunity for anyone interested in producing or arts management.
Stage/Production Manager
For rehearsals and on tour. You will take care of the practical side of the show.
We’re also going to be looking for a Voice Coach, Movement Director, and Fight Director. If you work in any of these areas, get in touch, or please recommend people you’ve worked with!
Everyone that we get involved should be excited about making theatre, and eager to be part of a highly collaborative creative process. You need to love Shakespeare, of course, but also be willing to discover new perspectives. And you don’t need to be female to be part of the creative team!
In return, you’ll get to be part of the biggest production yet from an innovative, award winning company, destined to make waves at an incredibly exciting time in our development. We can provide accommodation at the Edinburgh & Buxton Fringes, and you’ll get passes for the venues we perform in.
