Titus Andronicus

This triple-award winning 75-minute production uses an ensemble of 8 actors and involves lots of doubling. The weapons and blood in this brutal script are replaced with paintbrushes and bright red paint, creating a show that is vibrant, violent, and colourful.

Othello

A brand new show, developed with the company. This fast, intense, and quick-witted ensemble piece will be the much-anticipated follow-up to our hit Titus Andronicus.

The ensemble

The shows will be performed in rep with all actors playing parts in both shows.  You’ll be joining a number of the existing Titus cast. We’ll consider all actors for all parts, and intend to give actors varied and balanced casting.

Rehearsals

Main rehearsals will take place from May 25th to July 6th, with a read-through and welcome drinks the week commencing 18th May.

The rehearsal period will be divided between 4 part time weeks (some evenings, weekends, and Wednesday daytimes), and 2 full-time weeks (Mon-Sat, all day), as follows:

  • w/c 25th May: part-time
  • w/c 1st June: part-time
  • w/c 8th June: part-time
  • w/c 15th June: full-time
  • w/c 22nd June: part-time
  • w/c 29th June: full-time

In addition, there will be extra rehearsals as required in performance weeks (including tech and dress etc).

There’s also likely to be some additional rehearsals in the weeks between shows (specifically w/c 6th July, w/c 20th July, and w/c 27th July, plus w/c 21st Septmeber and w/c 28th September). These will be partly flexible based on actors’ schedules and the scale of work needed.

Payment

Payment for this production is profit share with a guarantee of £600/actor. All accommodation outside of London and transport from London will be covered and organised by us. Funding is pending, and if successful, will be significantly reflected in the fee. There is option to extend the tour to further venues.

Auditions and casting

We’re looking for adaptable and resourceful actors with a strong sense of storytelling, an eye for comedy, and a passion for Shakespeare. Good line-learning skills, openness, and flexibility to different ways of working are also essential.

All ethnicities, accents, and ages will be considered… You just can’t be male!

Initial auditions will take place on the 11th, 13th & 14th of May, with a group recall on the 16th May. All auditions will be in London.

We’ll be considering everyone for all parts.
