You asked, we listened…

Today we have excellent news for lovers of tragedy, all-female Shakespeare, red paint, cannabalism, gore, chef outfits, dismemberment, red paint, non-specific-periods-in-the-Roman-empire, underperformed early Shakespearean collaborations, red paint, and some more red paint.

If you’ve been reading our newsletter, you might already know what this is. (If you haven’t, why not?).

Titus Andronicus is coming to London!

Titus Andronicus was our second show, and our Edinburgh Fringe debut. It played to packed houses at the beautiful Bedlam Theatre in 2013, and went on to sell-out at York Theatre Royal later that year. The show won The Buxton Fringe Award for Best Production, The John Beecher Prize for Innovative Challenging Theatre with High Production Values, and Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe, plus gained more review stars than there are asterisks in a Terry Pratchett novel.

This year, we’re totally revamping the show – it will be bigger, bolder, better and bloodier.

Here’s a quick round-up of some of the press for the show:

“one of the most stunning Shakespeare tragedies I’ve ever seen” – Cafe Babel
“innovative narrative choices and engaging brutality” – Fest
“a whirlwind riot of innovation” – York Mix
“witty, violent, and playing into the ridiculous nature of the play” – Fringe Review
“both side-splitting and stomach churning… inventive and incredible” – Broadway Baby
“striped back but energised” – A Younger Theatre
“admirably elegant and disciplined” – Fringe Guru
“an enjoyable, paint-spattered romp” – British Theatre Guide
“vibrant and visceral, fast, fresh, furious… and funny” – Edinburgh Spotlight
“Funny, ferocious, creative, brilliantly performed and unflinchingly bloody” – The Skinny

Excited? Us too. To whet your appetite, here’s a little trailer from the 2013 production:
